How the work gets made

Four moves between your raw file and a finished film.

Most agencies do the second one and call it an edit. The order is the craft.

01Flawless timeline

The cut you never notice.

  • We watch the whole raw file. We keep the gold. We kill the fog.
  • Dead air, ums, false starts, the minute 47 that should have been minute 1. That is this step.
  • You get a timeline that already feels like a finished film. No homework. No “almost.”

This is the first job and the real job. Graphics on a bad cut is makeup on a mess. We lock the story, the pace, the first three seconds, the last line. When this is right, everything after looks expensive. When this is wrong, nothing saves it.

02Picture that moves

B-roll and motion. The part that makes it feel like TV, not a Zoom.

  • Talking heads get coverage: the product, the place, the hands, the proof.
  • Motion graphics (moving type and simple 3D, not a circus): numbers, names, a price that lands, a logo that does not scream.
  • Same light. Same grade. Punch-in on the word that hits.

If you only shot a face, we still build a film around it. If you shot the thing, we make the thing the star. This is where a ramble becomes a scene. The viewer does not “read an edit.” They feel one.

03Words on the glass

Captions and the hook they see with the sound off.

  • Hook text is already there at frame zero. No fade. No blank first second.
  • Captions follow the voice. Names and prices get a human eye, not a blind auto-file.
  • Safe from the buttons the apps glue on the screen. Your CTA does not die under Like.

Most people watch mute. The network (the ranking system) buries anything they skip. So the words are not decoration. They are the ad. One idea on screen. Apple-clean. Your voice, readable in one glance.

04The pack that hits every network

Thumbnail, sizes, the first frame. The sum that creates the impact.

  • A thumbnail that is a second ad: face or product huge, 4 or 5 words, the reason to tap.
  • One master cut, then the shapes each app wants: 9:16 for Reels, TikTok, Shorts, Stories. 1:1 for the feed. 16:9 for YouTube.
  • Cover, first frame, and grid picture are three different jobs. We do all three.

This is the conclusion. Not a folder named final_FINAL_2. A finished product: the timeline, the motion, the captions, the thumbnail, the sizes. You look at it on your phone, mute first. If it stops you, it stops them. Then it is ready to post, on every network, as if you had a studio sitting next to the camera. You didn’t. You had a raw file. That is the point.

01Build the cut
Audio editor removing a silent gap between two waveforms, a red CUT marker on screen in a soundproofed studio.
Inside the PAPS STUDIO edit bay: dead air is cut from the timeline while natural breaths stay in place.Professional short-form video editing starts with pacing: our editors remove the silence that loses viewers and keep the pauses that make speech feel human, so retention rises without a robotic rhythm.

Kill silence, not meaning

Dead air goes. The breath before the line that lands stays.

    Breathing is human.

    02Build the cut
Editor leaning back in a studio chair, reviewing a color-coded first assembly on a widescreen editing timeline.
The first assembly arrives pre-cut from the brief, hook first, one idea per clip, the same structure every week.PAPS STUDIO builds the first cut of every social media video from a written brief, so each reel, story and short opens with the hook and carries a single idea per clip before a human editor refines it.

    The agent cuts first

The first assembly is built from a brief: hook first, one idea per clip.

      Same format every week.

Senior editor watching an interview clip on a monitor at night, hand on chin, taking notes beside a desk lamp.
A senior human editor screens every clip and keeps only the lines that sell, about 30 percent never survives. Our editing templates assemble, people decide: every video the agency ships is watched end-to-end by a professional editor who cuts weak takes and protects the one line that makes customers act. That review is the job.

      A human watches every clip

We kill 30 percent and keep the line that sells.

        This is the job.

The sound mix keeps dialogue king: one music bed, levels that duck under speech, and no fight for attention.Good social media audio is invisible: we mix the voice above a single music bed, clean the noise and master levels for phone speakers, because clear dialogue is what keeps viewers watching to the end.

        Sound

Dialogue stays king. Music dips under speech.

          One bed, no war.

Hook titles are designed into the first second of every video, set in your brand's own colors and typography.Motion titles are built for the mute autoplay feed: one idea on screen at a time, brand typography, and a hook line inside the first second, the difference between a scroll-past and a view.

          Titles, not wallpaper

Hook text in the first second, in your brand colors.

            One idea on screen.
